Fascinating article over at Politico about Apple’s offshore funds. I’m no financial wiz so I’ll let you read it for yourself and make judgements but the thing that interests me about this subject the most is the USA made Macintosh that we know is coming. Last year Tim Cook said we’d see a Mac made in the USA. Something that is a part of an existing product line. My speculation is that this has got to be the new Mac Pro. Other product lines like the Mac Mini are small and cheap to ship but the Mac Pro is a huge chunk of metal and costs tons of money to fill the USA inventory with. But if they made a new Mac Pro here, they’d be able to charge the same price and make a better profit. I want the Mac Pro to stay around so anything they can do to make it more worthwhile I’m all for. Plus, I am a fan of “Made in America”
