Ubisoft has released a new trailer for WATCHDOGS, one of the most anticipated titles coming this fall for Next Gen systems (and the Wii U).
Aside from KILLZONE: SHADOWFALL, this is the game I’m most interested in playing on Next Gen systems at launch.
The storyline in Watchdogs apparently revolves around Aiden Pearce, a vigilante hacker out for justice in a futuristic city run by an omnipotent computer. It’s an open world game where you can hack everything from network connected cameras to bank data and traffic lights to aid missions.
Interestingly, the Ubisoft web site notes that the game is already available for pre-order for Next Gen consoles with a November 19th general release date. But the PS4 version is listed on Amazon as December 31st, probably to avoid giving away the systems’ actual launch date. I would imagine though that the November 19th date is a safe launch week for at least the PS4. Why would Ubisoft launch their new Next Gen title on older systems before the Next Gen systems? Also interesting is that Ubisoft’s one-sheet says it’ll be available for Next Gen systems… and the Wii U. I guess nobody considers the Wii U “Next Gen”.
