Google just released an update to their Google App for the iPhone and iPad that includes Google Now, the life helper feature that Android fans have had for a while now. Think of it as an assistant who is really eager to throw a ton of information you may or may not want in your face as your day goes on. For example, it looks at your search history and says “Oh you have searched for your local basketball team in your local area so you must want the scores” and when a game comes on there will be a card that tells you the scores. It has more useful functions like it looks at your Google Calendar for flights you may be taking or upcoming appointments and alerts you when you should be leaving to get there on time or flight status if your plane is delayed. I’m mostly pointing out features that I knew worked on the Android version and are shown in the launch video, but since Google Now can’t integrate into iOS the way it can on Android I’m curious to see how well it works in the background. Either way, Google keeps making all of it’s sweet apps for iOS so I don’t have to use an Android phone. Thanks Google!
